Lionel has had a long career at BNP Paribas, joining in 1981 as Head of large oil and gas project financing before becoming Head of the BNP Africa Division and subsequently Head of the Americas. From 1997 Lionel was appointed as Head of Telecoms, Construction Materials and Transportation and then from 2000-2016 acted as a senior banker originating many of the bank’s key Corporate Finance deals.

Since 2017 Lionel has been in charge of his own Advisory and Investment company Baloo SAS.
