Bennet Engineering has been sold to Copus Group, a portfolio company of Buysse & Partners and Dovesco

Brussels – CFI is pleased to announce that it has acted as the exclusive corporate finance advisor to Bennet Engineering (‘Bennet’) in its sale to Copus Group (‘Copus’), a portfolio company of Buysse & Partners and Dovesco.

Bennet is a technical consultancy business, providing highly sought-after profiles such as process engineers, maintenance technicians and industrial engineers. The company has a focus on several attractive niches, among which the (petro)chemicals and tank terminal industries. Bennet serves a strong diversified client base with recurring, substantial and challenging technical demands and has a dominant position in the Port of Antwerp. The company was founded in 2017 as a spin-off of recruitment company Dixon & Company and is headquartered in Antwerp. Bennet employs a team of 100 engineers and expects € 14 million in revenues in 2021.

Copus is a group of HR agencies, operating under 9 different brands, specialised in staffing of highly skilled technical, construction and office talent. The group is active in Belgium and Germany, managing 110 offices with over 350 employees. In 2022 the group expects a revenue of € 250 million, as a result of both organic growth and a strategic acquisition strategy.

Bennet is an important add-on for the white-collar division of Copus, originated after the acquisition of Smart Solutions earlier this year. With the incorporation of Bennet, Copus wants to expand its secondment activities and specifically strengthen its position in the chemical clusters surrounding the ports of Antwerp and Ghent. For Bennet, the new partnership offers ample opportunities, enabling them to grow and to tap into new markets.

CFI orchestrated discussions and negotiations during the process that ultimately resulted in the successful sale to Copus Group.
