BentallGreenOak has acquired the Rihga Royal Hotel in Osaka
Tokyo – CFI is pleased to announce that it acted as exclusive financial advisor to Canadian real estate investment company BentallGreenOak Group in its entering into a capital and business alliance with The Royal Hotel Group, Limited, and its acquisition of the assignment of trust beneficiary right of the Rihga Royal Hotel.
BentallGreenOak is a Canadian real estate investment company with 28 offices around the world and over $80 billion in assets under management. They strive to build trust-based relationships with all of their 750 clients from across the world.
The acquisition, Rihga Royal Hotel, was designed by Isoya Yoshida, an architect noted for his immaculate blending of traditional Japanese and modernist architecture, and opened in 1965. It has hosted celebrities, dignitaries, and royalty, and currently boasts over 1,000 rooms, as well as restaurants, luxury retail opportunities, ball rooms and meeting spaces.
This acquisition initiates a refurbishment effort set to complete in 2025, and more than double the current average room-rate in the hotel.
This transaction closed on 31 March 2023.
