BlueTrail has been sold to Nordian
Amsterdam – CFI is pleased to announce it acted as the exclusive corporate finance advisor to the shareholders of BlueTrail, in the sale of BlueTrail to Nordian.
About BlueTrail
Founded in 2011 by the Zandvliet family and operating from its headquarters in Alphen aan de Rijn, BlueTrail mediates for more than 400 interim professionals every year. The company has a clear focus on highly educated interim IT professionals working in the (semi-)public domain, such as project managers, software engineers and IT-infrastructure specialists.
About Nordian
Nordian is an independent Dutch investor focused on increasing and accelerating the growth of companies. Founded in 2014, Nordian has now contributed to more than 30 companies as a supportive and committed investment partner. Nordian offers proactive support in areas such as strategy, financing and mergers & acquisitions.
About the transaction
In recent years, BlueTrail has achieved impressive growth. Since current CEO Bart Wille took over several years ago, he has more than doubled the size of the company. At the heart of the company’s success is the time and energy the organisation puts into finding the perfect match for their professionals and end clients. Bart Wille is committed to lead the company’s next growth phase. With Nordian acquiring a majority stake from its current shareholder, the CEO of BlueTrail now has a sparring partner to focus on further strengthening the commercial side of the organisation and actively creating additional demand by further participating in the tender domain. In addition, the current management sees great potential in acquisitive growth.
CFI’s role in the process
CFI was invited by the owners of BlueTrail to orchestrate the sales process. Leveraging CFI’s in-depth market knowledge and extensive network in Staffing & HR services, CFI played a pivotal role in assisting BlueTrail in finding a suitable partner with shared ambitions. CFI subsequently coordinated the process, resulting in a successful transaction for the Zandvliet family on 29 September 2023.
Bart Wille, CEO of BlueTrail, says: “We are delighted to have Nordian on board as a strategic partner. This partnership will strengthen our unique position in the market while maintaining our DNA and enabling us to serve our customers even better. We are confident that this is the beginning of a very successful partnership. We greatly appreciate the invaluable and unwavering support provided by CFI in this process. CFI’s profound expertise in the staffing market has resulted in a highly valued outcome in this transaction.”
