Keskisuomalainen sold its early morning delivery business of newspapers to Posti
Helsinki – CFI is pleased to announce that they acted as exclusive financial advisor to Keskisuomalainen in the sale of its early morning newspaper delivery business to Posti.
Keskisuomalainen Oyj is a leading media provider in Finland, with a portfolio of print and digital magazines, digital outdoor advertising and radio, that reaches 3.1 million Finns.
Posti is a leading delivery and fulfillment company in Finland, Sweden and the Baltics. It offers a wide range of postal, logistics, freight, and eCommerce services. Its early morning delivery business has grown in recent years. Currently, Posti carries out early morning delivery in the capital region as well as in East Uusimaa, Pirkanmaa, Satakunta, Southeast Finland, South Savo, Central Finland, South Ostrobothnia and North Karelia. Posti’s early morning delivery employs approximately 2,400 deliverers.
Posti acquires Keskisuomalainen’s early morning delivery business of newspapers. The transaction is aimed at strengthening the future of the delivery market and ensuring quality service for customers in early morning delivery business. The transfer of the business to Posti builds upon the long-standing cooperation with Keskisuomalainen and is aimed at boosting the delivery of publications and extending the lifecycle of subscribed newspapers. The transaction is also a continuation of the transactions in 2017 and 2019, when the early morning delivery operations of Kaakon Viestintä and Alma Media, respectively, were transferred to Posti.
