Amsterdam – Corporate Finance International (‘CFI’) is delighted to announce it has acted as the exclusive corporate finance advisor to Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (‘LLCP’) and NMi Certin (‘NMi’), in its transaction with Chamois Metrology Limited (‘Chamois Metrology’).
NMi (‘het Nederlands Meetinstituut’) is the leading independent specialist for legal metrology testing and inspection services in Europe and a trusted brand globally. NMi specialises in type approval & certification, verification & calibration and consultancy services covering a broad range of advice on complex regulations and accreditations. NMi is headquartered in Delft, the Netherlands and has cultivated the industry’s most experienced and knowledgeable workforce. The company will, with the backing of LLCP, further pursue its international growth ambitions. The acquisition of Chamois Metrology is part of NMi’s acquisition strategy, which began last year with UK-based Young Calibration.
Headquartered in Warwickshire, England, Chamois Metrology is an experienced, UKAS-accredited provider of pressure, electrical, mass, dimensional, and temperature calibration services. Offering solutions for calibration and measurement instruments, Chamois Metrology works closely with many leading manufacturers, including AccuMac, Additel, Aremeca, Fluke Test Tools, and Zwiebel.
LLCP was founded in 1984 and is a global investment management firm providing investment capital to leading entrepreneurs. The firm has managed approximately $12.7 billion of institutional capital to companies focusing on Consumer, Healthcare, Education and Business Services.
CFI initiated discussions and negotiations, which ultimately resulted in a successful acquisition of Chamois Metrology, which was signed on 5 May 2022.
Yvo Jansen, NMi CEO, says: “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to increase our UK footprint once again and to work with the skilled and highly experienced team at Chamois. This acquisition adds to our portfolio of capabilities, and we can now offer a far wider scope of calibration services to our customers across Europe and the UK. The Chamois team has experts across multiple sectors, bolstered by technical knowledge, quality processes, and impressive facility capacities.”
Neil Morgan, CEO of Chamois Metrology, says: “Yvo and the team at NMi are providing Chamois with a great opportunity to continue growing as part of a large and well-respected metrology business. The synergies, resources, and leadership NMi brings, coupled with strategic collaboration, will enable Chamois to extend our customer reach both in the UK and overseas markets.”
This transaction illustrates CFI’s continued dedication to the Business Services sector and reinforces our long-standing track record of orchestrating (cross-border) buy-and-build by Private Equity and exits for founders in the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) space, as recently demonstrated by the acquisition of Young Calibration by NMi, the acquisition of Triskelion by Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, the acquisition of NMi by Levine Leichtman Capital Partners and the sale of Industrial Safety Group B.V. to DEKRA SE.
With our passion for deals, CFI is a trusted corporate finance lead adviser to the middle-market providing best-in-class advice and seamless execution on M&A transactions for our clients worldwide. We continue to build long-term relationships and partner with entrepreneurs, Private Equity investors, corporates and management teams planning to sell their businesses, raise capital, restructure or build by acquisitions.
