VIA Equity acquired a minority stake in hosting company GleSYS
Stockholm – CFI Sweden is pleased to announce it acted as the exclusive corporate finance advisor to GJ Holding on the sale of minority stake in GleSYS to VIA Equity.
Glesys is a Swedish company which was founded in 1999 in Falkenberg. GleSYS provides Infrastructure as a Service (“IaaS”) including offerings such as colocation, dedicated servers, network & connection, system management and virtual private servers. It offers both Swedish and international customers hosting services through its two redundant data centers located in Falkenberg and Stockholm. The company has over the years maintained strong and profitable growth and has several times been awarded with prices Gazelle and Super Company. GleSYS has about 35 employees working in offices located in Falkenberg, Malmö and Stockholm.
VIA Equity is a leading private equity firm from Denmark with over EUR400 million in managed capital. Their primary scope is small and medium-sized companies in northern Europe (mainly in Denmark, Finland, Germany, Norway and Sweden). VIA Equity has a good history of building and transforming its investments into national and international industry leaders.
Negotiations started at an early stage with VIA Equity that led to an investment of 49 % in GleSYS, through a LBO from a newly set-up Holding company.
The transaction closed on 7 May 2018.
