Dobco Medical Systems has been sold to Fortino Capital
Corporate Finance International (‘CFI’) is pleased to announce that it acted as the exclusive corporate finance advisor to Dobco Medical Systems in its sale to Fortino Capital.
Dobco Medical Systems is an international SAAS software company that specialises in Web-based medical imaging solutions. The company was set up back in 2011 by Jan Dobbenie and Kristof Coucke, two healthcare IT industry veterans, who were able to count on the advice of pioneering physicians, specialist physicians and experts in various business areas.
The two founders were approached several times by large international healthcare IT providers. However, they decided to continue scaling the company on a standalone basis, but with the financial and international business expertise from a private equity firm.
“Together with Fortino Capital, Dobco Medical Systems can take the next step and further scale up the company. Thanks to Fortino Capital’s knowledge of Software-as-a-Service, as well as their experience in putting companies on the map in an international context “, confirms Jan Dobbenie, CEO at Dobco Medical Systems. Dobco’s aim is to further expand its platform and service offering both in Belgium and internationally to Norway, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France and Cyprus. With Fortino as its partner, the company is looking to strengthen its sales team so it can meet the increasing international demand.
CFI was called in to advise the founders on the different strategic options. A discrete and well-targeted process involving a very limited number of pre-selected Belgian private equity funds was carried out in a short time span. Fortino was the chosen private equity partner.
The transaction closed in June 2018.
