JDM, an agribusiness insurance brokerage company, has sold 100% of its shares to ALPER, a leading Brazilian brokerage company, invested by Pátria Investimentos and Credit Suisse

São Paulo – Corporate Finance International (‘CFI’) is pleased to announce that it served as the exclusive financial advisor to JDM in its sale to ALPER.

ALPER is a leading Brazilian insurance broker with more than BRL 1.5 billion in insurance premiums under management and more than 500 employees. Alper is public company invested by distinguished players such as Patria Investimentos, Credit Suisse and Brasil Capital.

JDM is a agribusiness insurance brokerage company with more than 25 years of operation and BRL 100 million of premiums under management. The company focuses on crop insurance through direct sales to producers (B2C). JDM operates in the south and midwest of the country – covering the main soybean and corn production areas.

The transaction follows the Brazilian insurance brokerage sector’s consolidation process, a sector still highly fragmented and with many cross-selling synergy opportunities. Furthermore, the agricultural sector is booming, whereas Brazil is one of the largest grains producers in the world and insurance is highly under-penetrated, scenario which is starting to change due to recent adverse weather conditions in the production regions. This deal makes Alper one of the largest agricultural brokers in Brazil, now with expertise in crop insurance.
