Portuguese equipment rental company Sogipe has been acquired by Machrent
Lisbon – CFI is pleased to announce that it acted as exclusive financial advisor to Sogipe, a company specialized in equipment rental, on its sale to Machrent.
Founded in 1987, Sogipe is a Portuguese company specialized in industrial equipment renting (small to large-sized equipment) to various sectors, such as civil construction works, retail and facility services. Besides the equipment renting, the company also sells new and used equipment and provides technical assistance and fleet reconditioning.
Machrent was founded in 2007 and is a reference player in the equipment rental industry in Portugal and Mozambique. The company has a fleet of around 1,000 equipment and over 200 models including lifting platforms, load handling, ground movement, compaction and power generation. Machrent serves companies in the construction, industry, government, agriculture, and events sectors and other service providers.
This transaction represents an important milestone for CFI as we have participated on the sale of Sogipe to the now exiting shareholders (Obraguer) back in 2007. Since then, CFI has been following the company and its shareholders, resulting in this second well succeeded sell-side process.
This transaction closed on 22 October 2024.
