Profile
Henri Porte, Senior Advisor for Photonics and Quantum at CFI France, was previously Vice-President and Head of Photonics Strategy at the iXblue Group, now exail. With a scientific background in Physics, he defended a PhD thesis in optics and signal processing at the University of Besançon in 1985. He then joined the CNRS as a research fellow. There, he developed a research activity in the field of ultrafast optical modulators. In 2000, as CNRS Research Director, he created the company Photline Technologies in Besançon and became its CEO. In 2014, Photline joined the iXblue group, then the exail group in 2022. At the time, the exail site in Besançon had 85 employees and a turnover of €20 million. Henri Porte has published more than 150 articles in scientific journals and international conferences, he is a co-inventor of nineteen patents, and has supervised a dozen theses.
