CFI advised Rode Kruis Ziekenhuis on the sale of Dialyse Centrum Beverwijk to Fresenius Medical Care

Amsterdam – CFI acted as the exclusive corporate finance advisor to Rode Kruis Ziekenhuis on the sale of Dialyse Centrum Beverwijk to Fresenius Medical Care.

Dialyse Centrum Beverwijk (‘DCB’) is a renal care provider, specialized in dialysis treatment. DCB provides hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and home care peritoneal dialysis. The Company was established in 2009 by Rode Kruis Ziekenhuis (Red Cross Hospital). DCB distinguishes itself by using state of the art equipment and providing high quality dialysis care.

Fresenius Medical Care (‘FMC’) is the world’s largest integrated provider of products and services for individuals undergoing dialysis because of chronic kidney failure, a condition that affects more than 2.3 million individuals worldwide. Through its network of 3,225 dialysis clinics in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Africa, FMC provides dialysis treatment to 265,824 patients around the globe. FMC is also the world’s leading provider of dialysis products such as hemodialysis machines, dialyzers and related disposable products.

The transaction allows these reputable companies to serve their patients even better, combining DCB’s excellent patient care treatment with FMC’s position as a vertically integrated dialysis company. The fact that FMC offers both dialysis care and dialysis products is particularly advantageous in the development of new products. This transaction enables FMC to expand its activities in the dialysis care market in the Netherlands.

CFI worked closely together with the Internal Medicine Partnership and Board of Rode Kruis Ziekenhuis, the shareholder of DCB, to run an effective and value enhancing transaction process. CFI facilitated the discussions and negotiations with FMC, which resulted in a successful transaction which closed in January 2014.
