Enginear has been sold to Copus Group
Amsterdam – CFI is pleased to announce it acted as the exclusive corporate finance advisor to Enginear, in the sale to Copus Group, a portfolio company of Dovesco and Buysse & Partners.
About Enginear
Founded in 2013, Enginear is a leading talent development provider for engineering professionals. With offices in Gouda, Deventer, and Utrecht in the Netherlands, the company focuses on higher-educated technical profiles and especially on students and starters, offering permanent positions, temporary roles, and technical part-time jobs. To establish contacts with students, the company collaborates closely with universities and colleges. It has about 2,000 candidates annually who apply. Enginear’s clients include government agencies, engineering firms, and contractors.
About Copus Group
Copus is a group of HR agencies, operating under 9 different brands, specialised in staffing of highly skilled talent. Since its foundation in 1991, the company established a strong presence in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, employing over 5,000 individuals daily.
About the transaction
By joining forces with Copus Group, a major player in the industry, Enginear gains the resources to take significant steps towards further market growth and specialisation. For Copus Group, this acquisition represents an opportunity to expand its presence in the Netherlands and enhance its expertise in recruiting and supporting emerging engineering talent.
Arjan de Graaf, Director of Enginear, stated:Â “We observe that today’s youth often struggle to find their way in the job market. Hence, our approach is entirely focused on guiding these promising technical profiles. I am pleased that Copus Group wholeheartedly believes in our candidate-driven approach and is providing us with a platform to expand.”
Andy Vanderheyden, CEO of Copus Projectsourcing, added: “Enginear has developed a highly successful approach to solve the aging workforce challenge that we are facing. I see substantial potential to build upon this success, and the synergy with our other project sourcing specialists, Bennet Engineering, Smart Solutions, and Stratt+, opens up new opportunities.”Â
CFI’s role in the process
There has been a long-lasting strategic dialogue between Enginear and CFI. During the transaction, CFI coordinated the process and supported Enginear by leveraging its in-depth knowledge and extensive network in Staffing & HR Services to identify potential acquirers, negotiating deal terms, and structuring the deal. CFI’s expertise ensured a smooth process resulting in a successful transaction on 28 September 2023.Â
Arjan de Graaf, Director of Enginear:Â “We have found our collaboration with CFI to be very pleasant. They assume a leadership role throughout the process, ensuring that each phase is executed correctly. Their expertise extends beyond M&A techniques to encompass staffing companies, enabling them to swiftly address questions and challenges. This proficiency contributed to a seamless journey with a positive outcome, and we reflect on it with great satisfaction.”
