Kimura Foundry has sold 35 % of its shares in Kimura Foundry America to Sumitomo Corporation
Tokyo – Frontier Management Inc. (CFI Japan) is pleased to announce that they acted as financial advisor to Kimura Foundry in the sale of 35% of its shares in Kimura Foundry America to Sumitomo Corporation.
Kimura Foundry was established in 1927 by Tsunejiro Kimura. The company manufactures and sells castings for automotive press dies, machine tools and industrial machines, energy related castings, castings made using 3D printers (DMP) and monuments and figures made using polystyrene foam (KDW). Kimura Foundry has almost 1 000 employees at 12 locations.
Kimura Foundry America, Inc. factory in Shelbyville, Indiana is a subsidiary of Kimura Foundry Co. Ltd. The company uses 3D printing technology to manufacture prototype casting for a variety of industries, including automotive, agricultural, and gas and oil.
Sumitomo Corporation has six busienss fields: metal products, transportation & construction systems, infrastructure, media & digital, living related & real estate and mineral resources, energy,chemical & electronics.
The transaction closed in September 2020.
