Aqualung has sold its subsidiary Service Industrie Marine (SIM) to Société de Mécanique et de Robinetterie Industrielle (SMRI)
Paris – CFI is pleased to announce that it acted as exclusive financial advisor to Aqualung in the sale of its subsidiary Service Industrie Marine (SIM) to Société de Mécanique et de Robinetterie Industrielle (SMRI).
SIM is specialized in the certification and maintenance of all types of equipment using pressurized gases (compressors, regulators, divers’ cylinders, etc.). Based in Toulon, the company has a specialized industrial workshop from where it mainly provides its services to the defense market.
The buyer, SMRI, provides know-how in industrial mechanics (mechanics on rotating machines, work on industrial valves, machining) to players in the petrochemical, renewable and nuclear energy, and maritime defense sectors.
SMRI is a subsidiary of Groupe Ponticelli Frères, an independent and family-owned group with an international scope that employs 5,000 people and has a turnover of nearly €800 million providing industrial services mainly to companies in the oil and gas, energy and steelworks sectors.
The vendor, Aqualung, is a global leader in high-end scuba diving and water sports equipment. Founded in 1946, the group today has an extensive portfolio of diving, swimming, professional and military brands.
