CFI advised Stamm on its sale to SFS Group
Zurich – CFI Switzerland is pleased to announce that it acted as the exclusive sell-side corporate finance advisor to Stamm on the sale to SFS Group.
Founded in 1947, Stamm AG, Hallau (Switzerland) is a leading manufacturer of plastic injection moulding technology and mould making. With a workforce of 60 employees the company generated sales of approx. CHF 15 million in 2015.
The SFS Group is a global market leader for mechanical fastening systems and precision formed components. It is a Swiss enterprise quoted on the stock exchange and comprises the three segments Engineered Components, Fastening Systems and Distribution & Logistics which represent the corresponding business models. In the segment of Engineered Components, SFS intec acts as development and production partner supplying customized formed precision parts. SFS Group serves diversified end markets, including the automotive, construction/construction supply, electrical/electronics, aerospace and medical components industry. The SFS Group is headquartered in Heerbrugg (Switzerland). It is present with more than 70 sales offices and manufacturing sites in Europe, North America and Asia. Around 8’300 employees worldwide generated sales of 1.376 million CHF in 2015.
SFS Group AG acquires Stamm AG in Hallau (Switzerland) as a means of securing the continuation of the company. It produces high-precision plastic injection moulds in the technical small and micro range for a number of sophisticated applications. With this acquisition, the Industrial division SFS intec (Engineered Components segment) strengthens and supplements its competence in the field of micro injection moulding. Stamm AG is a preferred developer and manufacturer in this field and pursues a very similar business model to the SFS Group. Stamm AG’s customer portfolio largely complements that of SFS and thereby provides extended access to first-class companies in the medical component and other industries for the Industrial division. The SFS Group intends to strengthen and further develop the existing facility as a competence center, in particular for applications in the medical components industry. By adding the company to SFS Group, its customers gain access to the range of services and the know-how provided by SFS. Under the SFS roof STAMM AG will continue to be operated as an autonomous company.
Andreas Stamm: “This takeover is a convincing Swiss solution for the future-oriented further development of STAMM AG. I personally and the Management are confident that the present solution opens up excellent perspectives for all interested parties connected to our company, above all our customers, but also our employees and suppliers. We are highly pleased with the plans of SFS to expand the company at the location of Hallau to a center of competence in injection moulding technology, whereby the client structure is to be maintained and the strategic focus on medical engineering intensified.”
The transaction closed on 12 February 2016.
